Door Leaf

45mm thick, constructed from two skins of galvanized steel bonded to a structural honeycomb core.

The vertical edges of the skins are folded to create a full height, bevelled edge with interlocking seam for increased panel strength and rigidity.

The void between the two skins is in-filled with a bonded honeycomb core material, selected for its compression & torsional load performance.

The hinging edge is reinforced by steel hinge mounting plates welded within the leaf, and the lock mechanism is installed within an inner enclosure to facilitate is removal for future maintenance or replacement.

On externally located double doors an astragal is fitted to one leaf to ensure positive sealing at the centre.

Frame

Galvanized steel folded to form a double or single rebate profile.

Frame sections are pressed from galvanized steel to form a double (standard) or single rebate profile. Headers are profiled to form a smooth, butt joint with the full height vertical posts and headers include bolt fixing for positive engagement.

Uprights are reinforced with steel plates at all hinge & lock points.

Shallow depth thresholds are available at extra cost, either as folded steel or extruded aluminium sections

Frames are arranged for bolt fixing to any suitable opening structure.

Hardware

Hinges:

As standard, door leaves are pre-hung with 1½ pairs of 3.4mm thick stainless steelgrade 13 hinges, CE marked for use on fire resisting doors. For door leaves above 2260mm high 2 pairs of hinges are fitted. Hinges are recessed into to the frame and edge of the leaf.

Locks & Latches:

A complete range of standard locks & latches are available, CE marked for use on fire resisting steel doorsets.

Alternative locks & latches which have been CERTIFIRE approved for use on steel door sets are deemed suitable for use.

Handles:

Stainless steel levers & pull handles are fitted as standard.

Emergency Exit Devices:

A standard range of panic latches and bolts with ancillary items, such as external access devices is available.

NB: BOOTH-FD doorsets have been fire tested in latch-less configurations and any surface mounted emergency exit device with all metal components can be fitted.

Self Closing Devices:

Overhead face fixed (standard) or concealed overhead door closers are fitted to both latched and unlatched doorsets.

BOOTH FD doorsets are also available with CERTIFIRE approved floor springs and top pivots.

NB: Closers with hold-open mechanisms are not permitted and are not available.

Other Items:

Manual lever action flush bolts for double door passive leaves; door viewers; letter plates (90 minutes fire rating only); door signs, etc. are available.

Whatever hardware is selected all items are normally factory fitted, requiring no additional assembly work on site.

Vision Panels

Vision panels are available in various standard sizes, glazed with CERTIFIRE approved glass and gaskets.

Smoke Seals

A variety of approved compression and wiper seals are available, fitted into the frames to leaf rebate, between the leading edges of double door leaves and in the bottom edge of door leaves.

Finishes

Doorsets are supplied with standard factory applied rust inhibiting primer or factory applied PPC to any BS or RAL colour.

Door Weight

BOOTH FD doors weigh approximately 25 kg/sq. metre.
